Vanity Fair Hollywood Portfolio
February 5, 2008 |
I
have always been a big fan of the Hollywood Portfolio
issue of Vanity Fair Magazine. This year Renée
joins talented actors such as Charlize Theron, Gwyneth
Paltrow, Naomi Watts, Casey Affleck, Keira Knightley,
James McAvoy and more in the Hitchcock Portfolio. Senior
photography and beauty editor SunHee Grinnell said of
Renée's interpretation of Kim Novak's heroine Madeleine
Elster from the movie Vertigo. "Renée was
watching the scene over and over while getting her hair
and makeup done and when she came on set she started breathing
really hard, almost hyperventilating." Photographer
Norman Jean Roy said about Renée, "She just
absolutely exploded on the set and truly became that character
like Ive never seen before. We were in awe."
You can view a video of Renee behind
the scenes during her photoshoot here.
I also made captures from the video which can be seen
here.

Slow News Front
January 14, 2008 |
Unfortunately things have been
kind of quiet the past few days in the world of
Renee. But being a new site we have been working
on becoming affiliated with some of the best sites
on the internet ... here is a list of some of our
newest affiliates:
Renee Zellweger gave locals anything but a chilly
reception
January 10, 2008 |
When
local actress Tracy McMahon found herself face-to-face
with Renee Zellweger, the first thing that popped
into her mind -- surprisingly -- had nothing to
do with their shared craft.
"She's got the most amazing skin I have ever
seen," McMahon, 34, said with a laugh. "You
wanted to ask her questions about it, you know,
tips. But there's no time. It's work."
McMahon wrapped her part of filming for Chilled
in Miami -- which Zellwegger is currently in Winnipeg
shooting -- on Monday, after five hours on a small
plane with the tiny Texan.
She played a stewardess to Zellweger's Minnesota-bound
businesswoman and exchanged a few lines with Zellweger
while the cameras rolled.
Off-camera, McMahon said the 38-year-old Baytown,
Texas native was quiet, but cordial.
"She's so wonderful," McMahon said. "She's
very generous and open."
McMahon said her scene, which was filmed on a small
plane in a training area at Richardson International
Airport, is the opener for the film.
Winnipeg doubles as small-town Minnesota, where
Zellweger's character is sent to revive a floundering
factory.
Extra Anne Wyman, a 19-year-old University of Winnipeg
theatre student, doesn't have any lines in the film,
but spent a few hours filming a second airport scene
with Zellweger and only five other extras.
"She seemed really cool," Wyman said.
"The first time she walked on set was around
9:30 in the morning and they'd already been filming
all night. She was like, 'OK, who's exhausted and
has no brain?' and laughed."
Wyman said she was impressed by Zellweger's small
frame and ability to handle some wide-eyed extras
while just trying to do her job.
"I guess it must be hard for her to go to
her workplace and still have people ogling her,"
Wyman said.
McMahon, who also played a love interest of Joseph
Gordon-Levitt's character in locally-lensed The
Lookout and had another small speaking role in You
Kill Me, staring Ben Kingsley, said working alongside
such "stars" requires a level of decorum.
"When you get to that level, they make you
work for it," she said. "Their energy
is amazing and they're very open, but they command
that of you. I would like to think they pull you
up to that level." (source)
Info about "Chilled in Miami"
January 08, 2008 |
J.K. Simmons, who plays the dad
in Juno, is about to start work in Canada on Chilled
in Miami, starring Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick
Jr. "Renee plays a corporate fish out of water
from Miami who is transferred to Minnesota and is
not happy," says Simmons. "Harry plays
a backwoods guy. They hate each other and then,
shockingly, they don't." (source)
I am getting excited to see pictures
from this film ... it sounds like it is going to
be fun and I feel that Renee is definitely due for
a new romantic comedy!
It's Official: Golden Globe Awards Are Canceled
January 07, 2008 |
Even though Renee wasn't nominated
I am sure you will all be interested in this breaking
news:
The Golden Globe Awards have become
a victim of the writers' strike.
Organizers said Monday theyve officially
abandoned the televised formal ceremony this Sunday
and will replace it with a press conference announcement
of the winners.
"We are all very disappointed that our traditional
awards ceremony will not take place this year and
that millions of viewers worldwide will be deprived
of seeing many of their favorite stars celebrating
2007's outstanding achievements in motion pictures
and television," Hollywood Foreign Press Association
president Jorge Camara said. "We take some
comfort, however, in knowing that this year's Golden
Globe Award recipients will be announced on the
date originally scheduled."
The drastic move is in response to the Screen Actors
Guild pledge that its members would not cross picket
lines by the Writers Guild of America, effectively
leaving the show without any stars.
Instead of the lavish ceremony, the HFPA, which
sponsors the awards, will now announce the winners
at an hour-long press conference broadcast on NBC.
"The 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards NBC telecast
and champagne dinner in the Beverly Hilton's International
Ballroom is officially canceled," the HFPA
said in a statement. (source)
An Old Home Video
January 05, 2008 |
I found this old home movie made
by Renee's old boyfriend filmmaker Josh Pate of
her and their friend Bill Wolf for the Carolina
Film Alliance. Also featured in this video is Renee's
beloved dog Woof.
First Appaloosa Still
January 05, 2008 |
We have the first still from Renee's
film Appaloosa which is a western. She looks awesome!
The Writers Strike
January 04, 2008 |
It looks like Tom Cruise's studio,
"United Artists" is close to making a
deal with the Writers Guild of America. The
New York Post reports that if a deal is reached,
United Artists, a division of MGM, would become
the first notable movie company to come to terms
with the writers.
In a not so positive bit of news,
according to the Associated
Press the Actors will be not appearing at the
Golden Globe Awards. Screen Actors Guild (SAG) President
Alan Rosenberg said in a statement, "After
considerable outr each to Golden Globe actor nominees
and their representatives over the past several
weeks, there appears to be unanimous agreement that
these actors will not cross WGA picket lines to
appear on the Golden Globe Awards as acceptors or
presenters. We applaud our members for this remarkable
show of solidarity for striking Writers Guild of
America (WGA) writers." Hollywood Foreign Press
Association (HFPA) president Jorge Camara said in
a statement, "The HFPA has been placed in an
extremely difficult position with the ongoing Writers
Guild strike, We are making every effort to work
out a solution that will permit the Golden Globes
to take place with the creative community present
to participate. We hope to announce a resolution
to this unfortunate predicament on Monday."
Chicago Images
January 04, 2008 |
I have added a bunch of new images
from Renée's film Chicago. There are stills
and on set images. Here is a glimpse of what is
waiting you ...
Welcome to our city, Renee -- here
are some cool things to do while you're in town
She had us at hello.
OK, so we haven't actually had
the pleasure of making her acquaintance just yet,
but we were still pretty thrilled to hear that Oscar
winner Renee Zellweger was due to arrive in town
last night to commence filming on her latest movie.
Zellweger -- a 38-year-old Texas
native known best for her work in Jerry Maguire,
Chicago, Cold Mountain, and Bridget Jones's Diary
-- is in our fair city to work on the romantic comedy
Chilled in Miami, about a high-powered Florida business
woman who gets a frosty reception from the locals
after being transferred to smalltown Minnesota.
Shooting on the flick is expected
to get underway this Monday, continuing in and around
Winnipeg (and Selkirk) for the next six or seven
weeks.
In addition to Zellweger, the cast
also includes jazz crooner Harry Connick Jr. (P.S.
I Love You), Rashida Jones (The Office), and Frances
Conroy (Six Feet Under), plus prairie thesps Kristen
Harris, Tracy McMahon and local theatre vet Nancy
Drake.
Sources peg the movie's budget
at about $25 million, though that seems a shade
low, since Zellweger herself typically commands
between $12 million and $15 million per picture.
Whatever the case, we're sure you're
going to be hearing quite a bit about Ms. Zellweger
while she's here. (source)

January 03, 2008 |
Stars reveal how they get fit
Few topics generate more headlines
than the nitty-gritty details of how Hollywood celebs
get and maintain their fabulous physiques. And in
the media news cycle, fitness stories always get
the most play around springtime (right before the
summer beach season) and around New Years,
when everyone is pumped up to lose the extra pounds
they gained over the holidays.
To this end, TheImproper.com has
compiled a list of what your favorite stars do to
get in such incredible shape. Some of their workout
and eating programs aren't for the weak of will,
but all are sure to deliver results--if you can
survive them.
The Workouts
Superfit Renee Zellweger, 38, is
an avid swimmer and yoga enthusiast, but running
is her true passion. "That's my alone time my
thinking time," she has said. Zellweger jogs
up to five miles per session several times a week,
and when she hits the gym, she focuses on circuit
training.
Lake District sees Potter effect
January 02, 2008 |
Tourist
attractions in the Lake District claim a rise in
visitors has been prompted by the film Miss Potter.
Bridget Jones actress Renee Zellweger stars in the
biopic of Beatrix Potter, who created many of her
animal characters in Cumbria.
The World of Beatrix Potter reported
a 35% boost in visitor numbers in 2007. Lindeth
Howe Country House Hotel and Mountain Goat tours
also saw rises.
One in five people said the Miss
Potter film was the reason for their visit.
'Great advert'
Richard Foster, general manager of The World of
Beatrix Potter, said: "There was definitely
a significant Miss Potter effect in 2007.
"The film was a great advert,
not only for Beatrix Potter but also for the Lake
District as a whole."
Mountain Goat saw a 40% increase
in the number of people doing their daily tours.
And Lindeth Howe, which was once
owned by Beatrix Potter, said bookings had been
up by as much as 15% in some months compared with
2006.
The Potter effect is set to continue
with the film recently seeing its release in Japan.

Zellweger one of the worst at giving autographs
December 30, 2007 |
Who's Cool and Who's Cruel to Fans and Autograph
Collectors?
It's time again for Autograph magazines Annual
10 Best & 10 Worst Hollywood Signers lists.
For the third year in a row, actor Johnny Depp is
ranked the number one best signer, closely followed
by Matt Damon. Surprisingly, funny man Will Ferrell
is our number one worst signer as he has been seen
taunting fans who ask for his autographa real
disappointment considering he used to be so nice
to his fans. Youll learn more details like
this about what your favorite stars are like to
fans seeking autographs when the cameras are not
rolling.
From our judges in California, New York and Europe
who have spent the last year observing how stars
treat their fans, we compiled the most accurate
list possible. Keep in mind that even the best signers
sometimes don't sign, the worst occasionally do,
and that just because they're on the worst list
doesn't mean they're bad people. They're just bad
signers.

Personally I think that Renee is very private.
I have never heard her be rude to her fans. It would
be interesting to see what the magazine has to say.
If anyone has a copy and would mind scanning that
in, I would really appreciate it!
Zellweger doesn't make New Year's resolutions
December 30, 2007 |
Renée Zellweger doesn't believe in New Year's
resolutions.
In contrast to her 'Bridget Jones' character who
made long lists of resolutions in her diary every
year, the actress keeps her life in order throughout
the year and feels she has nothing to resolve.
Renée told BANG Showbiz, "I don't do
New Year's resolutions actually. If it needs fixing
I just fix it when I need to."
The 'Bee Movie' star recently revealed she is obsessed
with writing thank you letters.
She said, "When I get a day off I get really
busy and roll up my shirt sleeves and get done all
the things that keep me awake at night when I'm
working because I don't have time to do them. I
do believe that my true calling is to become a writer."
